I’ve always been intrigued by the story of Naaman. Here we have a powerful man from a rival country (Syria) who, hearing that there might be healing to be found in Israel, seeks it. BTW, he had leprousy. Then, upon having the cure pronounced to him (wash thrice in the Jordan), he scorns it.

2 Kings 5:12 (NKJV):
12 “Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?”

Clearly the Pocky Clips is upon us.  Melinda is now gonzo from AI6.  Good for her.  She gets all the publicity of AI without the mandatory contract that comes with winning.

Of course, she should have been booted off the show in the Semifinals so they could actually have a *competition* for the winner.  Clearly she's the best singer in the bunch this year.

BTW, look at bootees in third and fourth place last year: Chris and Elliot.  Both turned in *much* better albums than the Top Two from their season.  So the early exit is doing just fine by them.  Melinda will do likewise.  In fact, she might make a better album *without* winning than she would have made otherwise.

Plus, I can now officially not give a bag of flatus about the Finale.  I needed that 2 hours back anyway…

I don’t recommend the book, unless you’re attracted to Thriller books but don’t have the stomach for a good Dean Koontz every now and again (BTW, if you’re wary of Koontz, pick up Lightning and give it a read. It’s excellent, and just about anyone would enjoy it).

Anyway, it’s a “Christian” thriller, in that some of the main characters are Christian, and there’s heavy use of phrases such as “ticked off” and “heckuva”. Yeah, that good. But there was something in the theology of the book that bugged me, and I know it’s probably extremely prevalent among believers these days: the idea that to God, sin is sin.
