MMM: Amazing Race, Crais, Spokes, Subbatical, Over

I’m not what you’d call a Reality TV junkie.  But I’m not a Reality-Hater either.  I enjoy Survivor sometimes, American Idol occasionally (although there’s less and less to enjoy every year), So You Think You Can Dance due to its superiority, and The Amazing Race immensely.  It’s on again, and it’s still just incredibly awesome.  [...]

Foney Fridays: The Voting Gap Theory

Press Theorizes Dark Electorate to Explain Voting Gap
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Associated Press has now gone the way of physicists. Physicists, noting that the universe behaves in ways not consistent with its apparent mass, have long postulated the existence of so-called “dark matter” to explain the discrepancy. The press have now done the same when [...]

Theology Thursday: Predictions of Destruction

Today, a nice, light topic. Destruction and desolation. Nice, eh?  First, read this:
Jeremiah 7:30-34 (NET):
30 The Lord says, “I have rejected them because the people of Judah have done what I consider evil. They have set up their disgusting idols in the temple which I have claimed for my own and have defiled [...]

Too Funny Tuesdays: Nerd to your mutha’

Now that I’ve done twenty Too Funny Tuesdays (actually, I doubled-up on #8), I’m dropping the number.  It’s annoying to have to look up last weeks’ version to find out what number I’m on (and as #8 shows, I still miscalculate).  Besides, who’s counting?
I’ll probably do the same with the Foneys, too.
Anyhoo…to this weeks’ edition.  [...]

MMM: Cukes, Groban, Yankee Stadium

I’m a big fan of cucumbers.  Indeed, I don’t think I’ve ever met one I didn’t like.  I like cukes sliced, speared, pickled (sweet pickles aren’t a favorite), shredded…you get the picture.  I don’t think I’d be crazy about them cooked, but just about any fresh application is attractive to me.
The latest way I’ve found [...]

Foney Fridays #18: You Write Like a Monkey…

British Researchers Disprove Monkey Theory, Explain Olbermann
PLYMOUTH, UK - Researchers at the University of Plymouth have disproved the spirit of the theory, sometimes attributed to Thomas Henry Huxley, that an infinite number of monkeys typing randomly could produce the works of Shakespeare.
The researchers placed a computer in an enclosure with six Celebes Crested Macaques in [...]

Theology Thursday: That’s a Wrap-ture

I’ve stated previously on this blog that I don’t believe in the Rapture.  Several times (see here, here, and here for examples).  In case you’re now lighting up torches and thinking of erecting a stake on which to burn me, let me assure you that the “Rapture” I don’t believe in is the Pre-Tribulational Rapture.  [...]

Too Funny Tuesdays #20: I’ll take a doggie bag, please…

A coworker sent out this gem (if you haven’t seen it, it’s new to you):
Yesterday I was at my local Wal-Mart buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for my loyal pet, Sheriff, the Wonder Dog and was in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What [...]

MMM: Traffic Shockwave, Submissions, Datasheets

A while back, a friend told me about a Youtube showing how a Traffic Shockwave is created. Have you ever been driving along, minding your business, and then traffic suddenly comes to a standstill? You keep driving, hoping to see some reason for the logjam. And what do you see? Nuthin’. [...]
